چکیده
A field experiment was conducted at vegetable research farm of Sher-e-Kashmir University Agricultural Sciences and Technology Jammu, Jammu Kashmir (J&K) during 2019–21 to evaluate the performance 8 improved genotypes okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Influence of Farmyard Manure and Weeding Regimes on Growth and Yield of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) in Zaria
Field experiments were conducted during the 2010 and 2011 cropping seasons to investigate the effect of farmyard manure and weeding regimes on the growth and yield of okra. The study was a factorial experiment laid out in split plot design, replicated three times. Farm yard manure was assigned as main plot treatments, while weeding regimes was assigned as sub plot treatments. Parameters measure...
متن کاملInfluence of cover crops and soil amendments on okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) production and soil nematodes
A pot experiment to determine the effects of summer cover crops and soil amendments on okra yields and population densities of various soil nematode taxa was conducted in two consecutive growing seasons in a subtropical region. Two cover crops, sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea) and sorghum sudangrass (Sorghum bicolorrS. bicolor var. sudanense), were grown and returned to the soil with fallow as a c...
متن کاملEnhancement in the germination, growth and yield of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) using pre-sowing magnetic treatment of seeds.
The effect of pre-sowing magnetic treatments was investigated on germination, growth and yield of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus cv. Sapz pari). The dry okra seeds were exposed to sinusoidal magnetic field induced by an electromagnet. The average magnetic field exposure was 99 mT for 3 and 11 min and seeds with no magnetic field treatment were considered as control. Both treated and non-treated s...
متن کاملAssessment of genetic relatedness among okra genotypes [abelmoschus esculentus (l.) Moench] using rapd markers
DNA based RAPD (Randomly Amplification of Polymorphic DNA) markers have been used extensively to study genetic relationships in number of crop plants. In this study, 44 okra genotypes collected from different parts of India, were selected to assess genetic distinctiveness and relatedness. Total genomic DNA was extracted and subjected to RAPD analysis using 14 arbitrary 10 mer primers. The molec...
متن کاملEvaluation of Vegetative Growth Parameters in Biofield Treated Bottle Gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) and Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus)
The objective of the study was to assess the growth contributing characters of biofield treated bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) and okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) seeds. The seeds of both crops were divided into two groups, one was kept aside and denoted as untreated, while the other group was subjected biofield energy treatment. The variabilities in growth contributing parameters were studie...
